(June 14, 2006) - Space will also be occupied at the Molecular Medicine Institute at the University of Pittsburgh's Cancer Institute and at the University of Pittsburgh's Swanson Institute RFID Center of Excellence to house the instruments. Farfield Scientific Inc., a global supplier of analytical instrumentation, recently announced that it has chosen Pittsburgh, Pa., as the location of its U.S. headquarters office. The new office, to be located at Plummer Street in Pittsburgh, will serve as a direct sales office for Farfield's expanding operations and will also support operations for SciPartners Inc., Farfield's established sales agent in New England, New York and New Jersey. The Pittsburgh office is currently seeking scientists and plans to staff up to 20. Space will also be occupied at the Molecular Medicine Institute at the University of Pittsburgh's Cancer Institute and at the University of Pittsburgh's Swanson Institute RFID Center of Excellence to house the instruments. We are confident that Pittsburgh, with its thriving academic community and reputation for technical innovation, will be the ideal location for the expanded U.S. distribution of Farfield Scientific's evolving nanotechnology and biophysics research industries," said Neville Freeman, President of Farfield's U.S. operations. Farfield worked closely over the past year with the Pittsburgh Regional Alliance (PRA) to help find the right location, connect it to various professional services, and coordinate relationship building opportunities with local corporate and academic resources. The PRA worked closely with the University of Pittsburgh's Swanson Institute and the Pittsburgh Life Sciences Greenhouse. Founded in 1997, Farfield has been recognized internationally for providing the ultimate in measurement at the sub-atomic level and "illuminating the molecular world."
