About Us ABET Accreditation

Accredited by the Engineering Accreditation Commission of ABET, 111 Market Place, Suite 1050, Baltimore, MD 21202-4012 - telephone: (410) 347-7700.

The Accreditation Board for Engineering and Technology's (ABET) aim used to assure quality in educational institutions and programs. Accreditation through ABET is a voluntary, non-governmental process of peer review and requires an educational institution or program to meet certain, defined criteria.

The accreditation performed by ABET serves to declare that a program has met minimum standards for the prospective students benefit and help advise deans and administrators of a program's strengths and weaknesses and of ways to improve the program. The accreditation also serves to inform employers that graduates are prepared to begin professional practice with a sound education.

ABET CRITERION 2 OBJECTIVES FOR CEE:

  1. Prepare graduates to be successful engineering professionals and problem solvers.
  2. Instill in graduates a desire: to engage in lifelong learning; to pursue professional licensure; and to be professionally active.
  3. Provide access to an educational experience that will prepare graduates for success in the pursuit of advanced degrees.
